Device Registration

Devices can be added to the Perform portal through two methods:

1. Using perform to send a registration email to the user

2. Enter a four-digit headset code directly into the portal

Devices can be registered and assigned directly into a Device Group or devices can be registered to an organization and then moved into Device Groups.

There are three sections in this article:

1. Registered a device using email

2. Adding a device through the portal

3. Adding modules to devices

Registering a device using email

1. Select Register New Device.

   

    

2. Use the Select Registration Method drop down arrow to select Send registration email. You can also choose to name the device and the device group here, but that is optional.

   

    

3. Enter an email address.

    

   

    

4. An email will be sent to the user with the device.

   

    

5. The user will click the link from the email and will be prompted to enter the four-digit code.

    

   

    

6. Open the application on the device to see a four-digit code.

   

    

7. Enter the four-digit code on the Perform portal and select Submit.

    

   

    

8. A message will appear to confirm the device was registered successfully.

    

   

    

9. The device will now appear on the Device Management page. The device will either appear in the device group that was assigned when the email was sent, or in the ungrouped devices section. In this example, the device was not given a name or already assigned to a device group, so this device is listed in the Ungrouped Devices section.

    

   

    

Adding a device through the portal

1. Select Register New Device.

   

    

2. Use the Select Registration Method drop down arrow to select Enter four-digit code (from device). You can also choose to name the device and the device group here, but that is optional.

   

    

3. Open the application on the device to see a four-digit code.

   

    

4. Enter the four-digit code on the Perform portal and select Add Device.

   
    

5. The device will now appear on the Device Management page.  In this example, the headset was not given a name or already assigned to a device group, so this device is listed in the Ungrouped Devices section.

   

    

Adding modules to devices

Modules can either be assigned directly to Device Groups or directly to devices that are Ungrouped.  Assigning modules to device groups is covered here Device Groups – Promise VR.  

To assign modules to devices that are Ungrouped:

1. Select the Device to which you want to assign content
   
   
2. Select Add Module in the module section
   
   
3. Use the dropdown menu to choose the modules that should be added to the devices. Each module must be assigned individually.
   
   
4. Click Save
   
   
5. The assigned modules will now appear in the Modules section (as shown below) and will begin downloading inside all of the devices within the Device Group.
   
   
6. On the Device Management page, the device will also show the modules that are assigned.
